David Jones
Dr. David Jones, serves as the Dean of the College of Engineering at Utah State University, where he leads the college’s academic, research, and outreach initiatives. He joined USU after a distinguished career at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he was a professor and former department head in Biological Systems Engineering. He also served as Associate Dean in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Engineering and various other leadership roles.
Jones is leading the Utah State University College of Engineering through rapid evolution. He demonstrates a strong ethic of partnership and a unifying, strategic, and innovative approach to leadership. He believes effective leadership requires both creating a clear vision and executing that vision. He views continued commitment to community and economic development, research excellence and relevance, and the success of students, faculty, and staff as essential to USU’s mission.
