Rodman D. Grimm

President and Managing Member AZ Build Right

Rodman D. Grimm is the President and Managing Member of AZ Build Right, LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business “SDVOSB”. AZ Build Right’s primary purpose is to provide next generation security systems to education and health care organizations. Rodman directs the operations of the firm and its staff. He has extensive experience in organizing, managing, and financing large complex projects, and a broad understanding of the legislative process and government operations, especially as they relate to private industry.

Rodman has served the nation in important policy positions at the Department of Commerce and the Department of Energy, and on Congressional staff as a Legislative Director. He was nominated and selected to participate in the Presidents Executive Interchange Program. Rodman was appointed by President Reagan to serve on the congressionally mandated Advisory Panel on Alternative Means of Financing and Managing Radioactive Waste Facilities. He was recommended by the Congress and appointed by the Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to serve on the Congressionally Mandated Panel that guided the preparation of the formal needs-based analysis and cost/benefit study of natural disaster management and mitigation alternatives.

As the lead consultant for the conveyance of the former Fort Ord property and facilities, Rodman obtained over 2 billion dollars of land and infrastructure for the University of California and California State University, at no cost, without use restrictions. The former Fort Ord is now the home of California State University, Monterey Bay. He has assisted other Base Reuse Authorities in the conveyance of military installations and infrastructure, development of reuse alternatives, preparation of base reuse plans, and marketing the conveyed property to private sector entities.

Rodman has managed major projects for California State University, Blue Mountain Community College, City of Long Beach, California, Decision Works, Dimensional Learning Systems, Edge Spectrum, METRA (the Northern Illinois Commuter Rail System), Midway Airlines, Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, Mito Systems, Monterey California, Omaha Nebraska, Palmer’s Contracting, Qnect, Reno Airlines, RxBio, Skoolbo, Solid Solar, Station Casinos, State of Illinois, Town of Dauphin Island, Alabama, University of California, Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and numerous other business, professional and governmental entities.

As an Officer in United States Army Special Forces, Rodman served in combat in Viet Nam. He managed logistics operations throughout Southeast Asia. His responsibilities required extensive travel throughout the region and negotiations with foreign nationals. Rodman was awarded the United States Army Commendation Medal for these successful military operations.

Rodman earned an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley and a BA in Economics from Washington State University. He graduated Cum Laude from both Universities.
