Stephen W. Stanko
Stephen Stanko is a retired Senior Military Officer and licensed Professional Engineer with over 40 years of experience in complex DoD systems acquisition and leadership. He is a recognized Subject Matter Expert in DoD 5000 and DOE 6.X acquisition policies, with a proven track record of managing multi-billion-dollar aerospace and defense programs from inception through delivery.
As a Senior Program Manager at BAE Systems, Stephen has led design and development teams for the Sentinel Reentry System and the ICBM Fuze Modernization Program. His expertise spans the full acquisition lifecycle, including milestone preparation, risk management, and systems engineering documentation for critical national security assets.
Prior to his civilian career, Stephen served a distinguished tenure in the U.S. Navy, where he managed hundreds of engineers and oversaw billions in ship construction and repair contracts. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, as well as a Master’s in Materials Engineering and a Naval Engineers Degree from MIT. Stephen is DAWIA Level III certified, a certified ISO 9000 Lead Auditor, a CMMI SCAMPI B Appraiser and has held a Top Secret security clearance.
