Sunstone HR Consulting is a Utah-based firm providing fractional HR leadership to small and mid-sized businesses. Founder Rod Lacey launched Sunstone in 2017 after more than 25 years in high-growth organizations, including over 15 years on executive teams at companies recognized locally, statewide, and nationally for their people programs and cultures. Long before "fractional HR" became common, Rod was pioneering the model: embedding executive-level HR expertise in organizations not yet ready for a full-time senior HR leader.
Today, Sunstone HR's consultants serve clients from coast to coast, each bringing executive-level experience and a hands-on approach. Services include fractional, interim, and virtual HR consulting, HR compliance, and startup HR support.
Sunstone HR listens first and tailors solutions to each client rather than using prepackaged frameworks. It bills hourly with no retainer, so support scales up or down as a business evolves.
The name comes from the "sunstone" (solarstein), a crystal Vikings are believed to have used to navigate under cloudy skies, reflecting Sunstone's mission to help organizations find direction through growth and change, regardless of the 'weather' they face.
