Creekstone Energy, a large-scale, next-generation power and AI data center company, has announced plans to develop a major campus in Millard County focused on energy generation and data center facilities. Creekstone Energy plans to add 106 new, high-paying jobs and invest $17 billion in Utah over the next 20 years, supporting new opportunities and continued economic growth in the region.   Read More Here Karman Space & Defense to Develop State-of-the-Art Facility in West Valley On April 9, 2026, the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) awarded Karman Space & Defense a post-performance tax reduction for its expansion in Salt Lake County. The corporate incentive is part of the state’s Economic Development Tax Increment Financing (EDTIF) program. As part of the agreement, Karman Space & Defense plans to add 100 new, high-paying jobs and invest $28.5M in Utah during the next 20 years. Read More Here University of Utah Joins NASA-Backed Effort to Advance Additive Manufacturing for Aerospace and Propulsion Systems A collaboration between the University of Utah, Penn State, and Colorado-based company Elementum 3D has been awarded funding through NASA’s Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I program. The team will work together to advance the science of cold spray additive manufacturing for high-temperature alloys that can be used in the aerospace, space, defense, and energy industries.
