Daniel Schachtel, a New York City native and University of Rochester graduate, relocated to California in 1989 to co-founded Precision Hermetic Technology (PHT).
Daniel’s involvement in the company is dynamic — spanning design engineering, process enhancement, and customer relations — while he plays a pivotal role in shaping PHT’s vision, addressing customer needs, and driving continuous improvement through vertical integration. Daniel’s hands-on leadership, marked by a dedication to innovation, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction, continues to be a driving force behind PHT’s enduring success.
In 1994, Daniel assumed full ownership of PHT and directed efforts toward implementing vertical integration and recruiting top industry talent. Over the following decade, PHT expanded significantly in both production volume and part complexity — doubling its manufacturing space, adding more than a dozen CNC machine tools, and relocating its headquarters to Redlands, California.
The company doubled in size again in 2013 when it leased the adjacent building, increasing its footprint to 53,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Continuing its focus on vertical integration, PHT tripled its CNC machining capacity and added precious metal electroplating and high-temperature processing for specialized glasses and brazing — in addition to its core glass-to-metal sealing capabilities.
Now headquartered in Ogden, Utah, PHT has expanded further with an additional 80,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
