Kevin D. Kirkham has dedicated over 35 years to the field of laser performance measurement technologies. His passion
for measuring laser performance characteristics has driven his career, allowing him to work in various roles such as
product development, engineering, sales, and marketing. With lasers now applied to a wide range of applications
including cell phones, medical devices, communications, computing, and directed energy weapons, the challenges of
performance measurements are significant. He has witnessed and contributed to the rapid advancement in techniques
and tools to measure performance of lasers and other technical light sources.
Kevin studied electrical engineering and computer science at Utah State University. He is actively involved with ISO
technical committees that develop international measurement methods for lasers and other photonics products. Currently
Kevin works as an applications engineer and in sales development for MKS Ophir. He resides in Cache Valley, Utah with
his two children.
