Melynda Thorpe

Melynda Thorpe serves as Assistant Vice President of Workforce and Educational Opportunity at Southern Utah University, where she advances rural workforce and economic development through higher education–industry–government partnerships. Specializing in workforce and community-engaged research and pedagogy, she serves as a strategist for the university’s Target Industry Initiative for expanding work-based learning and milestone career pathways that connect learners to jobs in high-priority sectors. Thorpe is a Ph.D. candidate at Kansas State University, with a research program centered on rural workforce development.
