Greg Harwell

Greg Harwell joined Albany International in November 2019 as Group President of Albany Engineered Composites, bringing with him more than 25 years of extensive aerospace experience in operational roles of increasing responsibility. During his tenure with Albany Engineered Composites he has executed a growth strategy resulting in the best performance in its history for Revenue, Profit, Cash, Safety, Customer Engagement, and Operational performance.

Greg is an accomplished operational executive with a proven track record of success in organic and inorganic growth, profit margin expansion, and world class customer service in times of growth and consolidation. He has led all aspects of growing global businesses and is a strategic executive leadership partner and advisor to the CEO & President as well as an acting Executive Officer for Albany International Corp.

Greg is a high energy leader who inspires, energizes, and engages diverse high-performance teams. He has driven growth through innovative product and process leadership, improved client satisfaction in diverse markets, and managed Profit & Loss for multiple facilities. He also has strong experience in Mergers & Acquisitions and has gained recognition for his continuous improvement skills and productivity savings as a result of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma programs.

Prior to joining Albany International Corp., Greg served as President of Aerostructures for Precision Castparts (PCC) where he was responsible for managing all aspects of the organization for the Aerostructures division with revenues of over $1.5B and 34 facilities globally. During his tenure, he improved the business unit’s financial performance by increasing EBITDA year over year (YOY) and realized significant increase in cash flow YOY.

Greg also served as Vice President and General Manager in charge of Global Operations Strategy at Alcoa Fastening Systems and Rings, with multiple operations globally accounting for over $1.2B. Greg has extensive experience in globalization through Best Cost Country expansion as he was responsible for initiating operations in Mexico and China as well as actively drove activities in Hungary and North Africa.

Immediately before joining Albany International, Mr. Harwell was a Sr. Consultant to Arlington Capital Partners, providing M&A advisory services with the focus on acquiring two companies in the UK and merging them to present a consolidated corporation.

Greg has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Oregon State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Duke University.
